Here at “Four Dragons”, we are a family run club. The Trevor’s (Junior and Senior), Teresa and Becky are all second degree black belts in Karate and First degree in the Art of Iai-Jutsu, the Japanese art of drawing the sword. Trevor senior is also the 2004 world silver medallist in Weapons forms and The WYSOK's first ever black belt in ZNKR Seitei Gata Iaido.

“4 Dragons” is a family run club with over 24 years of martial arts training between us.

On our logo there are “4 Dragons” and each dragon represents one of the four main instructors, who are Sensei Trevor, Sensei Teresa, Sensei Rebecca, and Sensei Little Trev Bailey.

The colour of the logo is also significant; it represents YING & YANG (Good and bad, calm and aggression)

After competing at international level and representing England in 2004, we thought it was time to teach all we know to the next up and coming champions of this world.

Trevor and I have been married now for over 15 years and know only too well about bringing up children on a limited budget, that’s why at “4 Dragons” we keep our training prices low but keep the excitement of training high.

We have two other helpers, Sensei Chris and Sensei Tanya Middleton who we have known and trained with for years and are excellent instructors.

We have been running now since the 18th of February 2005 and are expanding every week.

About our Club

------------------------------------------

As you are probably aware your first lesson is FREE

The class starts at 7pm and finishes at 9pm every Wednesday (unless otherwise told in advance) Starting age is 5 years, at the discretion of the instructors.

Parents are asked to stay with their children, if under the age of 9, as something new is always a little daunting.

A traditional white Gi will be required before your child’s 1st grading and this suit must be worn every week for training with the belt that is held.

If you like what you have seen and would like to join our club you will require a licence after the initial trial period of TWO  WEEKS. This consists of a licence book and at the back of the book will be your insurance. You will also need an up-to-date photo of the person whose name is on the license for the front of the book.

Every student/instructor in this club is fully insured (unless in their trial period) but this does not extend out of the training hours. So please be aware that if you leave your child unattended before 7pm or are late in picking them up at 9pm we at “4 Dragons” and its instructors will not be held responsible as their insurance and ours will not cover them. Any one spectating does so at their own risk.

Internal Tournaments

-------------------------------------------

W.Y.S.O.K May 5th 2005

Very nervous but don’t they look good!

In our association we have 12 clubs in west Yorkshire , and every six months we all get together for a W.Y.S.O.K tournament.

We have lots of different categories so their is something for everyone. These include; Traditional Forms/ Traditional Team Forms/ Weapons Forms/ Creative Forms / Musical Forms Creative / Weapons / Musical Team Forms/ Traditional Sparring/ Freestyle Sparring and Grappling.

In May of this year 2005 16 people entered from our club and we came away with 12 trophies.

On the 23rd of October 2005 14 people entered and we came away with 14 trophies. Not bad for a new club.

If your child enters any of our internal tournaments you will be given a letter telling you of what he/she as entered. There names can be taken off at any time prior to the tournament, and all moneys must be paid on the last day of training before the tournament date. If you are unable to attend for any reason please let us know.

End of year Presentation

--------------------------------------------

At the end of each year we have a presentation, this presentation will be for the “Student of the Year”, who will get a trophy to keep, a surprise present and also a large club shield which is kept for twelve months then returned to the club. This presentation is to reward students who have worked hard throughout the year and have shown willing and determination.

There are also 2nd and 3rd places with prizes as well.

We will be presenting the “Student of the Year” on the last training session before Christmas. We do not open during the Christmas period. (You will be notified in advance of any closers)

I hope this help’s in answering some of your questions, on how the club is run.

If you have any problems, questions or suggestions feel free to talk to either Sensei Trevor or Sensei Teresa (all conversations will be kept strictly confidential) or use any of the contacts at the below.
